Recognized as a "sound aesthete and sensitive creator" by the Nordwest Zeitung, Ziad Kreidy is a French-Lebanese concert pianist, musicologist, and composer.

Born in Lebanon, he began his piano studies at the Kaslik School of Music, where he became the laureate of the 5th National Competition of Lebanon in 1991. The French government awarded him a scholarship to pursue his studies in Paris, where he received numerous awards: SACEM prize , Habilitation Thesis (post-doctoral degree) and PhD in musicology, First Prizes in orchestration, musical analysis and organology at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris - CNR, Prizes in piano, chamber music, musical analysis and musical theory in other national conservatories.

Following his first book Takemitsu. À l’écoute de l’inaudible (L'Harmattan, 2009), awarded a « Coup de Cœur Musique Contemporaine 2010 » from the Charles Cros Academy, he writes Les avatars du piano (Beauchesne, 2012) in which he criticizes the concept of ongoing progress in the historical evolution of the piano, and La facture du piano et ses métamorphoses (Aedam Musicae, 2018). He is also the editor of the bilingual collective volume Clefs pour le piano. Keys to the piano (Aedam Musicae, 2018) which brings together international specialists. He publishes numerous articles in academic journals in Europe and Russia.

As a concert pianist, he performs in France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Norway, the United States, Mexico and Lebanon. He prefers to perform on rare pianos and to make his own live recordings using a natural recording technique. His CDs devoted to Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Robert and Clara Schumann, Goetz, Heller, Brahms and Grieg. Following his research in ancient pianos tuning, he designed his personal 1/8 comma temperament for the romantic and impressionist repertoire.

Ziad Kreidy has been a lecturer at the Université Bordeaux 3, the Université de Franche-Comté and the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles, a visiting professor at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), and a professor at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental de Ville d’Avray (research, analysis, film score composition). He is currently a full professor of music history, analysis and research at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Versailles, a lecturer at the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and Sciences Po Reims, a research associate at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Humanities, Languages, Arts and Human Sciences (CRILLASH) at the University of the West Indies and at the Center for Cultural History of Contemporary Societies (CHCSC) at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
