Born in Lebanon on April 2, 1974, Ziad Kreidy, musicologist, pianist, and composer, began his piano studies at the Kaslik School of Music.

First prize winner of the 5th Lebanon National Contest in 1991, the French government offered him a grant to pursue his studies in Paris. In France he received numerous awards and prizes: laureate of the SACEM, Habilitation Thesis (post-doctoral degree) and PhD in musicology, First Prizes in orchestration, musical analysis and organology at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris - CNR, First Prize at the Central Competition of the City of Paris, Prizes in piano, chamber music, musical analysis and musical theory in other national conservatories.

His career led him to perform in France, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, USA, Mexico, and Lebanon, among others in Paris at the French Senate within the context of the Francophony Summit (2002), the Hôtel de Coulanges, the Carrousel du Louvre, the Sainte-Chapelle, the Festival des Musiques du Coeur au Marais, the Festival Les Saveurs Musicales, the Festival Pianissime, the Jossigny Festival, the Foro de Coyoacán and the National Center for the Arts in Mexico, the Off Byblos Festival, the Grand Sérail of Beirut, the Al Bustan International Festival with the Netherlands Blazers Ensemble, at Gammel Holte Kirke, at Ål kulturhus, Spiegelsaal (Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg), Temple University in Philadelphia, etc. Several radio and television stations have recorded Kreidy’s concerts.

Since 2010, he records in concert and with natural sound recording for LdN and Maguelone Music. He has notably published Takemitsu. À l’écoute de l’inaudible (L'Harmattan, 2009), awarded a « Coup de Cœur Musique Contemporaine 2010 » from the Charles Cros Academy, Les avatars du piano (Beauchesne, 2012), La facture du piano et ses métamorphoses (Aedam Musicae, 2018), and edited the collective and bilingual volume Clefs pour le piano. Keys to the piano (Aedam Musicae, 2018).

He has taught at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), the Université Bordeaux 3 and the Université de Franche-Comté. He is currently Professor at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental of Ville d’Avray (analysis, research, composition).

Following his interest in ancient pianos tuning, he designed his personal 1/8 comma temperament for the romantic and impressionist repertoire.
